# Westburg

*[Level 3 size] Medieval functional villager City [WIP]*

My Goal with this to have a City that feels alive. I will use Villagers to populate the City. We will have housings, services and production buildings, where villagers will work and commute to.

We will create farms and productions for every item and at best we can create whole production lines that would supply the whole city.

This is an ongoing project, it's only for the purpose the get a checkmark in my head, and finally can say, I've built a whole city finish. I've once already did that, You might find a few Old German Videos about it about Tauthen. It was basically as big as the entrance of my current city. So you see, my goals have slightly increased.

## Structures

9 of 19 confirmed present. A pinned marker outranks the scan; anything not confirmed is what the scan alone recorded.

Counted inside the built map. Past its edge the world keeps generating normal vanilla Minecraft chunks, so tables not seen here can still turn up out there.

## Questions about this world

### What is Westburg?

Westburg is a hand-made survival world of 6,144 × 6,144 blocks, made with WorldPainter, World Machine, Gaea, Axiom and WorldEdit, built for Minecraft Java 1.16.1. You download the world folder and play it like any other save, in singleplayer or on your own server.

### How big is Westburg?

6,144 × 6,144 blocks, so about 38 million blocks of surface. Walking from one edge to the other takes roughly 24 minutes at normal walking speed. The terrain runs from Y -64 to Y 320.

Outside that area the world keeps generating normal vanilla Minecraft chunks, so you never hit a wall, you just leave the built part behind.

### Which Minecraft version does Westburg need?

Westburg is built for Minecraft Java **1.16.1**. Newer releases normally open it fine. Opening it in an *older* release is not supported: blocks and structures added after that version cannot load, and the world can be damaged by the attempt.

Bedrock players need a converted copy. See [the Bedrock notes in the FAQ](https://mcmeddon.com/faq#install-bedrock).

### Which structures are in Westburg?

9 of the 19 structure types the scan checks are confirmed present: surface (0/7), underground (3/6), ocean (4/4), portal structures (1/1) and settlements (1/1).

Not confirmed: Desert pyramids (not checked), Igloos (not checked), Jungle pyramids (not checked), Pillager outposts (not checked), Swamp huts (not checked) and Trail ruins (not checked). "Searched, not found" means the scan looked and came up empty; "not checked" means it has not been looked for yet.

[The structure list](https://mcmeddon.com/worlds/20201101-westburg#structure-coverage) above names every one of them.

### Is Westburg ready to play in survival?

Yes. A scan of the world file confirms loot tables, structures and ores, so the survival loop runs from the first night: chests hold the game's real loot tables, mobs spawn as they do anywhere else, and you can mine, farm and build without adding anything. It plays in vanilla Minecraft, with no mods, no datapacks and no creative mode.

The scan did not see animals in this export. That means it did not find any, not that none can be found or bred here.

The [world contents report](https://mcmeddon.com/worlds/20201101-westburg#world-contents) at the bottom of this page holds the item-by-item detail.

### Where do I download Westburg?

From the [download link](https://www.patreon.com/posts/29984727) on Patreon, also on the button at the top of this page.

Also available: the [PlanetMinecraft project page](https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/westburg/), which carries the release notes and the known issues for this particular build.

### Can I look at Westburg before downloading it?

Yes. [Open it in the 3D explorer](https://mcmeddon.com/worlds/20201101-westburg/explore) and fly the real terrain in your browser, with the biomes, the caves and the marked structures. Nothing to install.
