# Agontorm

*6K, 1.21.5+, Mesa, Plateau Jungles, Alpines, NextGen Biome Control system*

A 36km² custom Minecraft Survival Map, created by McMeddon.
A world with pretty mountain ranges, from north to south and giant open fields and everything in between. The world center has a giant slanted mountain range with beautiful valleys. In the north You find the cold rocky alpine mountains, to the east a giant badlands mesa. To the west a giant mangrove and cherry forest. And the south is split between the black volcano lands, the red desert islands, and the giant jungle plateau.

This world was a giant leap. With new & updated forests, structures, and a whole new system to determine the world biomes. Basing it on large world factors, like latitude, rainfall, altitude, coastal and river proximity, etc.

Shares are measured across the built map. Past its edge the world keeps generating normal vanilla Minecraft chunks, so biomes missing from this list can still be found out there.

- Normal Caves: 94%
- Lush Caves: 3%
- Magma Caves: 1% (inferred from surrounding blocks)
- Dripstone Caves: 0.7%
- Deep Dark: 0.4%
- Ice Caves: 0.2% (inferred from surrounding blocks)

Inferred types have no biome of their own in Minecraft. They are named from the blocks around the cave rather than read from the save.

## Structures

16 of 19 confirmed present. A pinned marker outranks the scan; anything not confirmed is what the scan alone recorded.

## Questions about this world

### What is Agontorm?

Agontorm is a hand-made survival world of 6,145 × 6,145 blocks, made with WorldPainter, World Machine, Gaea, Axiom and WorldEdit, built for Minecraft Java 1.21.5. You download the world folder and play it like any other save, in singleplayer or on your own server.

### How big is Agontorm?

6,145 × 6,145 blocks, so about 38 million blocks of surface. Walking from one edge to the other takes roughly 24 minutes at normal walking speed. The terrain runs from Y -64 to Y 320.

Outside that area the world keeps generating normal vanilla Minecraft chunks, so you never hit a wall, you just leave the built part behind.

### Which Minecraft version does Agontorm need?

Agontorm is built for Minecraft Java **1.21.5**. Newer releases normally open it fine. Opening it in an *older* release is not supported: blocks and structures added after that version cannot load, and the world can be damaged by the attempt.

Bedrock players need a converted copy. See [the Bedrock notes in the FAQ](https://mcmeddon.com/faq#install-bedrock).

### Which biomes are in Agontorm?

39 in total. The land is mostly Plains (19.6%), Badlands (12.2%), Beach (10.2%) and Snowy Slopes (5.6%), counted as shares of the land rather than of the whole map.

Water covers 42.6% of the map, and land 56.8%.

By volume this world's caves are Normal Caves (94.3%), Lush Caves (3.4%) and Magma Caves (1.1%). The [cave breakdown](https://mcmeddon.com/worlds/20260515-agontorm#caves) has the rest.

The [full breakdown](https://mcmeddon.com/worlds/20260515-agontorm#biome-composition) is further up this page, with every biome and its share.

### Which structures are in Agontorm?

16 of the 19 structure types the scan checks are confirmed present: surface (5/7), underground (5/6), ocean (4/4), portal structures (1/1) and settlements (1/1).

Not confirmed: Igloos (not checked), Woodland mansions (not checked) and Ancient cities (missing). "Searched, not found" means the scan looked and came up empty; "not checked" means it has not been looked for yet.

[The structure list](https://mcmeddon.com/worlds/20260515-agontorm#structure-coverage) above names every one of them.

### Is Agontorm ready to play in survival?

Yes. A scan of the world file confirms loot tables, structures, animals and ores, so the survival loop runs from the first night: chests hold the game's real loot tables, mobs spawn as they do anywhere else, and you can mine, farm and build without adding anything. It plays in vanilla Minecraft, with no mods, no datapacks and no creative mode.

The [world contents report](https://mcmeddon.com/worlds/20260515-agontorm#world-contents) at the bottom of this page holds the item-by-item detail.

### Where do I download Agontorm?

From the [download link](https://mcmeddon.com/go/2odge0waq61wp) on Google Drive, also on the button at the top of this page.

Also available: the [PlanetMinecraft project page](https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/agontorm/), which carries the release notes and the known issues for this particular build.

### What is new in Agontorm?

Every world is built on the one before it, and Agontorm brought 16 logged changes into the line: new terrain, new assets and fixes to the generators that made it.

From its list:

- updated birch trees new
- updated darkoak deads
- added new underground mineshafts

The [full list](https://mcmeddon.com/worlds/20260515-agontorm#world-changelog) is on this page. These are the world's own additions, not patches released after it, so an older download is not missing them.

### Can I look at Agontorm before downloading it?

Yes. [Open it in the 3D explorer](https://mcmeddon.com/worlds/20260515-agontorm/explore) and fly the real terrain in your browser, with the biomes, the caves and the marked structures. Nothing to install.
