Overview

8K, 1.21.5+ & 26.3, Vanilla Caves & Structures🤝 on custom World

A 64km² custom Minecraft Survival Map, created by McMeddon. A world in the form of a ruptured D, with a indipendent island at the core and a giant mountain ring surrounding it. The north houses arctic plateas, the east dominates the world with their giant plains, forests and mountain chains. The south inhabits a giant canyon range, surrounded by badlands, deserts, and also oceans. This world focused on the refinement on previous methods, and was the testing ground for large scale worlds once again, on a new program version. Aside that, the next giant leap might be finally done with this release, combining the beautiful vanilla caves with my custom worlds AND also adding vanilla structures and features ontop. This world again will be exported on 1.20+, ready for 1.21.5+ and be able to load biomes and caves of 26.3 to enable all possible versions

Questions about Dulkoras

What is Dulkoras?

Dulkoras is a hand-made survival world of 8,192 × 8,192 blocks, made with WorldPainter, World Machine, Gaea, Axiom and WorldEdit, built for Minecraft Java 26.4. You download the world folder and play it like any other save, in singleplayer or on your own server.

How big is Dulkoras?

8,192 × 8,192 blocks, so about 67 million blocks of surface. Walking from one edge to the other takes roughly 32 minutes at normal walking speed. The terrain runs from Y -64 to Y 320.

Outside that area the world keeps generating normal vanilla Minecraft chunks, so you never hit a wall, you just leave the built part behind.

Which Minecraft version does Dulkoras need?

Dulkoras is made for Minecraft Java 26.4 and opens in 1.21.5 and later. Between the two, anything added after the release you load it in is removed or replaced (new biomes load as plains), so 26.4 or newer shows the world as built. Releases older than 1.21.5 cannot open it.

Bedrock players need a converted copy. See the Bedrock notes in the FAQ.

Which biomes are in Dulkoras?

39 in total. The land is mostly Plains (16.8%), Beach (11.9%), Stony Peaks (7.1%) and Badlands (6.9%), counted as shares of the land rather than of the whole map.

Water covers 37.5% of the map, and land 61.9%.

By volume this world's caves are Normal Caves (78.4%), Dripstone Caves (6.4%) and Lush Caves (4.5%). The cave breakdown has the rest.

The full breakdown is further up this page, with every biome and its share.

Which structures are in Dulkoras?

17 of the 20 structure types the scan checks are confirmed present: surface (6/8), underground (6/6), ocean (3/4), portal structures (1/1) and settlements (1/1).

Not confirmed: Abandoned camps (not checked), Woodland mansions (searched, not found) and Ocean monuments (searched, not found). "Searched, not found" means the scan looked and came up empty; "not checked" means it has not been looked for yet.

The structure list above names every one of them.

Is Dulkoras ready to play in survival?

Yes. A scan of the world file confirms loot tables, structures, animals and ores, so the survival loop runs from the first night: chests hold the game's real loot tables, mobs spawn as they do anywhere else, and you can mine, farm and build without adding anything. It plays in vanilla Minecraft, with no mods, no datapacks and no creative mode.

The world contents report at the bottom of this page holds the item-by-item detail.

Where do I download Dulkoras?

From the download link on Google Drive, also on the button at the top of this page.

Also available: the PlanetMinecraft project page, which carries the release notes and the known issues for this particular build.

Can I look at Dulkoras before downloading it?

Yes. Open it in the 3D explorer and fly the real terrain in your browser, with the biomes, the caves and the marked structures. Nothing to install.

How do I install Dulkoras on Java Edition?

  1. Unpack the archive you downloaded from Google Drive.
  2. Open your saves folder. On Windows press Win + R and enter %appdata%\.minecraft\saves. On macOS it is ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves, on Linux ~/.minecraft/saves.
  3. Move the unpacked folder in. It must be the folder that contains level.dat, not a folder wrapping it.
  4. Restart Minecraft on 1.21.5 or newer and pick the world in singleplayer.

Full install guide

Can I play it on Bedrock, or on a server?

Bedrock needs a converted .mcworld copy, and converted worlds carry their own quirks around spawn, chests and villagers.

For a server, drop the world folder in as the server's world and start it.
