Eulyxian
Overview
Forest, Shore
A 144km² custom Minecraft Survival Map, created by McMeddon. A world in the form of a ruptured semi circle, with a indipendent island at the core and a giant mountain ring surrounding it. The north houses arctic plateas, the east dominates the world with their giant plains, forests and mountain chains. The south inhabits a giant canyon range, surrounded by badlands, deserts, and also oceans. This world focused on the refinement on previous methods, and was the testing ground for large scale worlds once again, on a new program version. Aside that, the next giant leap might be finally done with this release, combining the beautiful vanilla caves with my custom worlds AND also adding vanilla structures and features ontop. This world again will be exported on 1.20+, ready for 1.21.5+ and be able to load biomes and caves of 26.3 to enable all possible versions

What is new in Eulyxian
- old birch forests are now old growth birch forests
- added 26.4 ice_caves biomes to existing ice cave biomes, so it technically should load on 26.4
- reduced floodplains size
- world node optimizations for improved rendering
- Swamps: manual placed ones prefer floodplains, autoplaced follow common biome rules
- found a logic issue that over maxed the grass areas
- switched the masking to reduce plains and increase spruce forest
- added dappled, pale, swamps to normal biome placement instead of handplaced
Show all 11 changes
- improved balancing of subbiome distribution (now more even and equal)
- removed flatland subbiome influencer for swamps to improve subbiome balance
- added new global biome masks and prepared separation of biome and forests to later include better coverage of biomes across terrain, which currently cuts away biomes on slopes
WorldPainter source files for Eulyxian
Eulyxian is published twice: the finished world you drop into your saves folder, and the project source files it was built from. Depending on the world that means the WorldPainter project, with the terrain, the biomes and the structures still on separate layers, or the black and white height and colour maps behind it, or both.
- Switch the structure layers off and export a clean terrain-only version.
- Re-export at a different Minecraft version instead of waiting for an updated build.
- Reshape the terrain, move a biome or fix something yourself, on the original layers.
- Use the terrain as the base for your own map, on your own server or project.
Opening them needs WorldPainter, which is free. See the FAQ for the terrain-only case in full.
These files are for you, not for passing on
The project source files are licensed to you personally, and they are the one part of a world that is not under Creative Commons. Everything above is yours to do. What is not:
- Share, pass on or publish the project source files
- Sell the source files, or sell a world exported from them
- Redistribute a world exported from them, modified or not

Questions about Eulyxian
- What is Eulyxian?
-
Eulyxian is a hand-made survival world of 12,288 × 12,288 blocks, made with WorldPainter, World Machine, Gaea, Axiom and WorldEdit, built for Minecraft Java 26.4. You download the world folder and play it like any other save, in singleplayer or on your own server.
- How big is Eulyxian?
-
12,288 × 12,288 blocks, so about 151 million blocks of surface. Walking from one edge to the other takes roughly 47 minutes at normal walking speed. The terrain runs from Y -64 to Y 320.
Outside that area the world keeps generating normal vanilla Minecraft chunks, so you never hit a wall, you just leave the built part behind.
- Which Minecraft version does Eulyxian need?
-
Eulyxian is made for Minecraft Java 26.4 and opens in 1.20 and later. Between the two, anything added after the release you load it in is removed or replaced (new biomes load as plains), so 26.4 or newer shows the world as built. Releases older than 1.20 cannot open it.
Bedrock players need a converted copy. See the Bedrock notes in the FAQ.
- Which biomes are in Eulyxian?
-
40 in total. The land is mostly Plains (12.9%), Beach (10.5%), Stony Peaks (9.0%) and Stony Shore (6.5%), counted as shares of the land rather than of the whole map.
Water covers 46.0% of the map, and land 53.5%.
By volume this world's caves are Normal Caves (78.4%), Lush Caves (5.1%) and Sulfur Caves (5.1%). The cave breakdown has the rest.
The full breakdown is further up this page, with every biome and its share.
- Which structures are in Eulyxian?
-
19 of the 20 structure types the scan checks are confirmed present: surface (7/8), underground (6/6), ocean (4/4), portal structures (1/1) and settlements (1/1).
Not confirmed: Abandoned camps (not checked). "Searched, not found" means the scan looked and came up empty; "not checked" means it has not been looked for yet.
The structure list above names every one of them.
- Is Eulyxian ready to play in survival?
-
Yes. A scan of the world file confirms loot tables, structures, animals and ores, so the survival loop runs from the first night: chests hold the game's real loot tables, mobs spawn as they do anywhere else, and you can mine, farm and build without adding anything. It plays in vanilla Minecraft, with no mods, no datapacks and no creative mode.
The world contents report at the bottom of this page holds the item-by-item detail.
- Where do I download Eulyxian?
-
From the download link on Patreon, also on the button at the top of this page.
Also available: the source files on Patreon and the PlanetMinecraft project page, which carries the release notes and the known issues for this particular build.
- What is new in Eulyxian?
-
Every world is built on the one before it, and Eulyxian brought 11 logged changes into the line: new terrain, new assets and fixes to the generators that made it.
From its list:
- old birch forests are now old growth birch forests
- reduced floodplains size
- world node optimizations for improved rendering
The full list is on this page. These are the world's own additions, not patches released after it, so an older download is not missing them.
- Can I look at Eulyxian before downloading it?
-
Yes. Open it in the 3D explorer and fly the real terrain in your browser, with the biomes, the caves and the marked structures. Nothing to install.
How do I install Eulyxian on Java Edition?
- Unpack the archive you downloaded from Patreon.
- Open your saves folder. On Windows press
Win+Rand enter%appdata%\.minecraft\saves. On macOS it is~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves, on Linux~/.minecraft/saves. - Move the unpacked folder in. It must be the folder that contains
level.dat, not a folder wrapping it. - Restart Minecraft on 1.21.5 or newer and pick the world in singleplayer.
Can I play it on Bedrock, or on a server?
Bedrock needs a converted .mcworld copy, and converted worlds carry their own
quirks around spawn, chests and villagers.
For a server, drop the world folder in as the server's world and start it.
What may I do with it?
The worlds are released under CC BY-NC 4.0. The Rights panel on this page lists what that allows and how to credit it.
